Task Center
An automated task managing system
Overview
Task Center was designed as a productivity tool to organize tasks. Task Center receives tasks from another product I worked on called Workflows, which automatically assigns tasks to a user and group. Users can view and complete tasks assigned to them, as well as follow certain tasks to see when progress has been made.
Design Process
For this project, I worked with a development manger, who acted as a project manager for the development team. We would have regular meetings together, along with other developers, and discuss how code capabilities and user experience design could work together.
Initially, I was only asked to create a desktop version, but later designed a mobile version as well. Both are designed with a dashboard landing page where users can select what group of tasks they’re interested in. This leads to a task list view, where users click on a specific task to view it’s details and complete the related form.
This project went through several iterations and multiple updates, as we improved both the desktop and mobile versions. This project also influenced other pages outside of Work Queues. After designing a notification settings page for Work Queues, I was able to suggest improvement to our global notification settings.
